There are two ways to use emoji reactions in the RingCentral app for desktop and web. You can use the emoji quick picker, which contains the emojis you use most often, or you can pick from the full array of emojis.
Using the emoji quick picker to react to a post
Select a conversation from the conversation list.
Hover your mouse over the message you want to react to.
Click the smiley face icon at the far right of the message.
Select from one of the frequently used emojis. You can also select from a full array of emojis by clicking the smiley face More emojis icon.
To change the default skin tone of your emoji:
Hover over the smiley face icon at the far right of the message, then click the second smiley face icon in the popup menu.
Click the Skin tone icon at the bottom right of the emoji quick picker, then select your default emoji skin tone.
Note: You can adjust the Keep open toggle to keep the emoji window open so you can select multiple emojis.
Using emojis to react to a post with emoji reactions
If a post already has an emoji reaction, you can react to that post with another emoji.
To upvote a reaction (i.e., to react with the same emoji that someone else has used), click on any emoji that appears directly below the post.
To react with one of your frequently used emojis, hover over the smiley face icon to the right of the post, then choose an emoji.
To select from the full array of emojis, hover over the smiley face icon at the far right, click the second smiley face More emojis icon, then choose an emoji.
If a post already has an emoji reaction, you can react to that post with another emoji.
You can react to a post up to 20 times with different emojis.
You can remove your reaction by clicking on the emoji that you used.
To view the voters of a post, hover over an emoji reaction. You’ll see the names of up to 30 voters. After 30 names, you’ll see the number of others who used that emoji to react to the post.
