Managing RingOut in the
RingCentral
app and Admin Portal

RingOut lets you use a landline or mobile device to make calls using your
RingCentral
phone number and caller ID. Your personal number stays hidden.
When you turn on the RingOut feature, you can place a call in the
RingCentral
app or Admin Portal. RingOut calls your personal phone first, then connects you to the other party using your
RingCentral
number as the caller ID.
Where do you want to use RingOut?
## Desktop & web
Turning on RingOut in the desktop and web app
---------------------------------------------
To turn on the RingOut feature in the desktop and web app:
* Go to **Settings** in the navigation bar.
* Click **Phone**.
* Under **Outgoing** , click the toggle to turn on **RingOut** .
* In the popup, enter the phone number of the landline or device you want to use to make calls.
* Select the checkbox to **Prompt me to press 1 before connecting calls** (optional).
* Click **Save** .
If you need to update your RingOut phone number, click **Manage** next to the toggle.
Using RingOut
-------------
Once you've turned RingOut on and added your phone number:
* Click the **Keypad**, then enter a contact's name or phone number.
* Click the **Call** icon. The app will call your RingOut number first.
* Answer the call on your personal device, then press **1**, if prompted.
RingCentral
will call the other party, displaying your
RingCentral
number as your caller ID.

## Mobile
Turning on RingOut in the mobile app
------------------------------------
To turn on the RingOut feature in the mobile app:
* Tap your profile picture at the top left.
* Tap **Phone**.
* Under **Outgoing** , tap **RingOut**.
* Tap the **Use RingOut to make calls** toggle on.
* Tap **Add RingOut number** (a), then enter the number (b) of the landline or mobile device you want to use to make calls.
* Tap **Done** .
* To add other RingOut phone numbers, tap the **Add** plus icon.
* Tap the **Delete** trash icon to remove numbers.
Using RingOut
-------------
Once you've turned RingOut on and added your phone number:
* Tap **Phone** in the bottom toolbar.
* Enter a name or phone number into the keypad.
* Tap the **Call** icon. The app will call your RingOut number first.
* Answer the call on your personal device.
RingCentral
will call the other party, displaying your
RingCentral
number as your caller ID.

## Admin Portal
Using RingOut in the Admin Portal

To use the RingOut feature in the Admin Portal:
* Sign in to the [
Admin Portal
](https://service.ringcentral.com "").
* If you're an Admin, click the **Admin Portal** dropdown at the top right, and select **My Extension**.
* Click the **App selector** icon at the top right.
* Click **RingOut** .
* If you've added a RingOut phone number previously, you can select that number. To add a new number, select **Custom Phone Number** from the dropdown.
* Enter the phone number of the landline or device you want to use to make calls.
* Select the checkbox to **Prompt me to press 1 before connecting calls** (optional).
* Enter a contact's name or phone number.
* Click the **Call** icon. The app will call your RingOut number first.
* Answer the call on your personal device, then press **1**, if prompted.
RingCentral
will call the other party, displaying your
RingCentral
number as your caller ID.
