Switching from a phone call to a video meeting to share your screen in the

app

During a phone call in the
RingCentral
app, you can switch to a video meeting and share your screen, without losing your audio connection
If you and the other call participant are both using the
RingCentral
app, you'll both be moved into the video meeting at the same time. If the other person on the call isn't using the
RingCentral
app, you can share the meeting link, allowing them to join your video meeting from a browser.
Where do you want to switch from phone to video?
## Desktop & web
Switching from a phone call to screen share in the desktop and web app
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To switch from a phone call to a video meeting:
* During an active phone call, click **Screen share** .
* You'll be immediately moved into a video meeting. Once the other person joins, the sharing screen will open and you can:
* Select the content you want to show and click **Share** (A).
* Continue the video meeting without sharing your screen by closing the screen sharing window (B).
Note
If the other caller isn't using the
RingCentral
app, they'll stay connected by audio so you can continue the conversation.
Participants without the
RingCentral
app can join your video meeting from their browser using a link, without having to download the app.
Once you've joined the meeting, click:
* **Send link by email**: To open your default email app.
* **Send link by text**: To send the meeting link to any phone number.
* **Copy link** : To copy the meeting link and share it through another platform.
Once they've joined the meeting:
* Click **Share** in the popup.
* Select the content you want to display, then click **Share** in the bottom right corner.

Switching from a phone call to screen share in the mobile app

To switch from a phone call to a video meeting:
* During an active phone call, tap **Screen share** .
* You'll be immediately moved into a video meeting. From here:
* Tap **Start Broadcast** to show your screen.
* Continue the video meeting without sharing your screen by tapping outside the **Screen Broadcast** popup.
Note
If the other caller isn't using the
RingCentral
app, they'll stay connected by audio so you can continue the conversation.
Participants without the
RingCentral
app can join your video meeting from their browser using a link, without having to download the app.
Once you've joined the meeting, tap:
* **Send link via...**: To copy the meeting link and share it through another platform.
* **Send link by text** : To send the meeting link to any phone number. This option may only appear for hosts with [Business SMS](https://support.ringcentral.com/article-v2/RingCentral-Business-SMS-Frequently-Asked-Questions.html?brand=RC_US&product=RingEX&language=en_US "") set up.
Once they've joined the meeting:
* Tap **Share** in the bottom toolbar.
* Tap **Start now** on Android or **Start Broadcast** on iOS to share your phone's screen.
