Configuring notifications and sounds in the RingCentral 
mobile app | RingCentral app

The Notifications section of the RingCentral mobile app lets you configure the following notifications settings:
  • Mobile notifications
  • Email notifications
  • Unread badge counts
To access the notifications settings for Android devices, tap the menu icon at top left > Settings > Notifications.
 
To access the notifications settings for iOS devices, tap your profile photo at top left > Notifications.
 
Note: When you customize your notification settings using your mobile phone, the settings will also apply to your RingCentral desktop or web app. To learn more, visit Configuring notifications and sounds in the RingCentral app desktop and web.

Configuring mobile notifications settings

The Mobile notifications settings control the types of messages and calls you’d like to receive notifications from. These settings include the following:
  • Receive notifications: Select this option to choose when you will receive mobile notifications. Your options are:
    • When inactive: You will receive mobile notifications after 15 minutes of inactivity on the RingCentral app.
    • Always: You will receive mobile notifications even when you are using the app.
    • Never: You won’t receive mobile notifications.
  • Direct messages: Toggle on to receive mobile notifications whenever someone sends you a direct message.
  • Mentions: Toggle on to receive mobile notifications whenever someone mentions you or your team in a message.
  • Teams: Select this option to choose when you will receive notifications for team messages. Options include: 
    • Every message: You will receive mobile notifications for each message sent to a team you’re part of.
    • First new message only: You will only receive mobile notifications for the first new message sent to a team you’re part of.
    • Off: You won’t receive mobile notifications.
  • Missed calls, VMs, faxes, and texts: Toggle on to get mobile notifications for when you receive missed calls, voicemail messages, faxes, or text messages.
  • Join now: Select this option to configure when you will receive mobile notifications to join a meeting. Options: None, 30 seconds before, 1 minute before, 2 minutes before, 5 minutes before, 10 minutes before, or 15 minutes before the meeting.
  • Notification sound: Select this option to manage notification sounds and vibrations in your device settings. This will open the app settings in your Android or iOS mobile device.

Configuring email notification settings

The Email notifications settings control when you’d like to receive notifications from mentions, direct messages, or team messages. Let’s discuss the options below:
  • Direct messages: Select this option to configure how often you should get email notifications when you receive a direct message. Options include Every 15 minutes, Every hour, and Off.
  • Mentions: Toggle on to receive email notifications whenever someone mentions you or your team in a message.
  • Teams: Select this option to configure how often you should get email notifications when you receive team messages. Options include every 15 minutes, Every hour, and Off.
  • Daily digest: Toggle on to receive an email with a summary of your daily tasks and team events.

Configuring unread badge counts

Tap Unread badge counts to select the type of messages that the badge will count. Your options include Direct messages and @mentions or All unread messages.
