Configuring notifications and sounds in the RingCentral  mobile app

Last updated on March 28, 2022
RingCentral can notify you about activities in your account through email or push notifications.

You can update these notification settings at any time:
  • Mobile notifications
  • Email notifications
  • Unread badge counts
Note: When you customize your notification settings using your mobile phone, the settings will also apply to your RingCentral app desktop and web app. Notifications may be delayed or ignored for Android users if the RingCentral app is under the sleeping apps category.

Managing sleeping apps for Android

Putting an app to sleep causes the app to stay inactive until you manually open it, which means the app won't be able to check new updates and send you notifications. You can place the RingCentral app under Never sleeping apps for Android 9 and above devices or Unmonitored apps for OS below Android 9.

Managing never sleeping apps for Android 9 and above

  1. Navigate to Settings.
  2. Tap Battery and device care
  3. Tap Battery, and then tap Background usage limits
  4. Tap Never Sleeping apps (Android 9 and above) or Unmonitored apps (OS below Android 9), and then tap the plus icon.
  5. Select RingCentral from the list, and then tap Add at the bottom right.

Managing unmonitored apps for OS below Android 9

  1. Navigate to Settings.
  2. Tap Device Maintenance, and select Battery.
  3. Select Unmonitored apps and then tap the plus icon.
  4. Select RingCentral, and then tap Done
