Joining a
RingCentral
video meeting

You can join video meetings from the
RingCentral
desktop, web, and mobile apps, as well as from
RingCentral
Rooms or a web browser.
Make sure to [connect your calendar](https://support.ringcentral.com/article-v2/Managing-connected-accounts-in-the-RingCentral-app.html?brand=RingCentral&product=RingEX&language=en_US "") so that scheduled meetings appear in
RingCentral
. You'll receive a [notification](https://support.ringcentral.com/article-v2/Managing-notifications-and-sounds-in-the-RingCentral-app.html?brand=RingCentral&product=RingEX&language=en_US "") when it's time to join a scheduled meeting.
Where do you want to join a video meeting?
## Desktop
Joining a
RingCentral
video meeting in the desktop and web app

* In the navigation bar, click **Video**.
* Your upcoming meetings are displayed by default. Hover over any upcoming meeting and click **Join** to enter, or click **Join** at the top of the page (a) and enter the meeting number or name.
* Click the three-dot **More** icon next to any meeting to:
* **Join from room** : Join the video meeting from a
RingCentral
room. Select the room to join from, and if it's available, it'll connect to the meeting.
* **Dial in**: Select an available phone number to dial in to the meeting using audio only.
* **Copy meeting link** : Copy the meeting's join link.
Note
You can be in two meetings at the same time. If you try to join a third meeting, you'll automatically disconnect from the first meeting you joined.
* Before joining the meeting, you can:
* See who's already joined, if you're a coworker of the host (a)
* Turn your microphone and camera on or off, and manage [your virtual background](https://support.ringcentral.com/article-v2/Using-RingCentral-Virtual-backgrounds.html?brand=RingCentral&product=RingEX&language=en_US "") (b)
* Adjust your microphone, speaker, and camera settings (c)
* Click **Join** .
* Click **Join without audio**to watch the meeting without sound.
Managing joining preferences in the desktop app
-----------------------------------------------
You can manage the default settings used when you join meetings.
* Go to **Settings** in the navigation bar.
* Click **Video**.
* Click **Edit** next to **Video meeting settings**.
* In the Settings window that pops up, click**Join preferences** to manage the following:
* **Audio/video preview**: Turn the pre-meeting preview on or off.
* **Audio**: Click the check boxes to Always mute audio when joining, or Always use computer audio when joining.
* **Video**: Click the check box to Always turn off camera when joining.
* **Entry \& Exit tones** : Click the toggle to turn tones on and off, and manage when they're used.

* Tap **Video** in the bottom menu bar.
* Your upcoming meetings are displayed by default. Tap **Join** next to a meeting to enter it, or tap **Join** at the top of the page (a) and enter the meeting number or name.
* Tap the three-dot **More** icon next to any meeting to:
* **Join from room** : Join the video meeting from a [

Hosts and participants can have two meetings running at the same time. If a participant or host tries to join a third meeting, they'll automatically disconnect from the first meeting they joined.

* Under In-meeting settings, tap **Audio and video** to manage the following:
* **Audio/video preview**: Turn the pre-meeting preview on or off.
* **Audio/video defaults** : Tap the toggles to:
* **Always mute audio when joining**
* **Always auto connect audio when joining**
* **Always turn off camera when joining**
* **Zoom and crop participant video**
* **Crop self camera view**

## Web browser
Joining a
RingCentral

Unless the host requires it, you don't need a
RingCentral
account to join a meeting from [an up-to-date web browser](https://support.ringcentral.com/article-v2/RingCentral-Video-system-requirements.html?brand=RingCentral&product=RingEX&language=en_US&pills-nav=web "").
Note
If you're using Firefox, you need to turn on [
RingCentral
Video for Firefox](https://support.ringcentral.com/article-v2/12697-Integrations-RingCentral-for-Firefox.html?brand=RC_US&product=RingCentral_Video&language=en_US "") before you can join a meeting
* Open your web browser.
* Enter the meeting link and press **Enter** .
* If you've connected your calendar, you can also click the meeting link from the meeting information in the calendar.
* Before joining the meeting, you can:
* Sign in to RingCentral if you have an account (a)
