Using a green screen will enhance the performance of your virtual background by increasing the sharpness and definition of your image. Once you've set up a solid blue or green background in your workspace, you'll need to turn on the green screen feature in your Video settings in the <var class="keyword">
<div style="display: inline;">
RingCentral
</div></var> desktop or web app.

Note: If you want to turn on the green screen during a meeting, click the three-dot **More** icon from the in-meeting controls in the bottom menu bar.

* Go to **Settings** in the navigation bar.
* Select **<var class="keyword">
  <div style="display: inline;">
  Video
  </div></var>**.
* Click **Edit** to the right of **Video meeting settings**.
* Next, turn on the green screen feature by clicking the **Background \& effects** tab or the **Presentation mode** tab.

### Using a green screen with virtual backgrounds

* Click **Background \& effects**.
* Select a background or click the plus icon to add your own image.
* Select your screen color.
* Move the **Color similarity** slider to adjust your image so it displays clearly.

* Click **Presentation mode**.
* Select a background.
* Select your screen color.
* Move the **Color similarity** slider to adjust your image so it displays clearly.

Best practices when using a green screen
----------------------------------------

* Use a solid green or blue background.
* Don't wear the same color as your background.
* Use multiple sources of lighting set at different angles to reduce unwanted shadows
* You can purchase a green screen or make your own using a solid-color sheet or curtain. Types of green screens include:
