Using your Personal meeting ID in the
RingCentral
app

You can customize your personal meeting settings in the
RingCentral
app. This allows you to quickly start and create new
RingCentral
Video meetings that have the same settings and dial-in details each time.
In your settings, you can create your own Personal meeting ID (PMI) instead of the ID that's auto-generated for a
RingCentral
video meeting. You can also add a personal meeting name that's easy to remember.

## Desktop & web
Using personal meetings in the desktop and web app

You can copy and share your Personal meeting ID, customize your personal meeting settings, and start or schedule a personal meeting in the
RingCentral
app.

### Finding and sharing your Personal meeting ID
To find your Personal meeting ID:
* In the navigation bar, click **
Video
**.
* At the top of the screen, click **Start**.
* In the dropdown, you'll find your PMI. To copy it, hover over **Personal meeting ID** , then select **Copy meeting ID** . You can paste the link to share with others through email, chat, text, etc.
### Customizing your personal meeting settings
You can customize your personal meeting room on the
Video
page or from your settings.
Customizing from the
Video
page:
* In the navigation bar, click **
Video
**.
* At the top of the screen, click **Start**.
* In the dropdown, hover over **Personal meeting ID** , then select **Settings**.
Customizing from Settings:
* In the navigation bar, click **Settings**.
* In the left pane, click **
Video
**.
* Click **Edit** at the far right of **Personal meeting** to open the **Personal meeting settings** window.
In the **Personal meeting settings** window, you can customize the following settings:
* **Personal meeting ID:** Use the default listed, or customize your Personal ID meeting number.
* **Personal meeting name**: Add a custom name that's easy to remember for your personal meeting room.
* **Use Personal meeting ID or name for instant meetings** : Check this box to use your PMI for instant meetings using the Start button on the
Video
page.
* **Require password**: Check this box to require a password for participants to enter your meetings. Enter the password you'd like to use in the available field.
* **Participants can only join after host**: Check this box if you don't want participants to join your meeting before the host.
* **Enable waiting room** : Check this box to allow the meeting host to control when an attendee can join the meeting.
* From the dropdown, choose who to create a waiting room for: *Everyone* , *Anyone outside my company* , or *Anyone not signed in*.
Click **Advanced settings** to adjust the following:
* **Only authenticated users can join** : Choose from the dropdown: *Off* (to allow anyone to join), *Signed in co-workers* , or *Signed in users*.
* **Turn off camera for participants**: Check this box so that participants join with their cameras turned off.
* **Mute audio for participants**: Check this box for participants to join with their audio muted.
* **Only host \& moderators can share screen**: Check this box to only allow hosts and moderators to share their screens.
* **Allow to start and stop recording** : From the dropdown, select *Everyone* or *Only host and moderators*.
* **Allow to start and stop transcription** : From the dropdown, select *Everyone* or *Only host and moderators*.
When you're done customizing your settings, click **Save**.
### Starting an instant meeting with your Personal meeting ID or name
If you turned on *Use Personal meeting ID or name for instant meetings* in your settings, meetings that you start using the **Start** button on the
Video
page will use your personal meeting details.
To start a meeting instantly:
* In the navigation bar, click **
Video
**.
* At the top of the screen, click **Start**.
* In the dropdown, click **Start meeting** .
If you didn't turn on *Use Personal meeting ID or name for instant meetings* in your settings, you can still start a meeting with your Personal meeting ID.
To start a meeting instantly:
* In the navigation bar, click **
Video
**.
* At the top of the screen, click **Start**.
* In the dropdown, click **Personal meeting ID** . Then select *Start with Personal meeting ID*.
### Scheduling a personal meeting
You can schedule a personal meeting in the
RingCentral
app. Your PMI will be included in the meeting link with the invite sent to the meeting participants.
* In the navigation bar, click **
Video
**.
* Click **Schedule** to open the **Schedule a meeting** window.
* Add your meeting title, date, time, and duration, then check the box for **Use personal meeting** .
* Adjust the other settings as needed, then click **Schedule**.
## Mobile
Using personal meetings in the mobile app

### Finding and sharing your Personal meeting ID
In the
RingCentral
mobile app, you can find your personal meeting information on the **
Video
** page.
* Tap **
Video
** (a) in the bottom menu bar, then scroll through the top row of icons to **Personal meeting**.
* Tap **Personal meeting** (b) to open your meeting information.
* Tap **Share meeting link** . Then select how you want to share the meeting link:
* **Using
RingCentral
** : Tap this option to open your
RingCentral
contacts list. Scroll or search for users, and tap their names to add to the **To:** field at the top of the screen. When you're done selecting contacts, tap **Share** at the top right. Your contacts will be sent the link to your meeting room with a message asking them to join.
* **Using other apps**: Tap to open your mobile device's share options and send your meeting link using another app on your device.
### Customizing your personal meeting settings
You can customize your personal meeting settings from the
Video
page in your mobile app.
* Tap **
Video
** in the bottom menu bar.
* Tap **Personal meeting** at the top.
* Click the **gear** icon next to your Personal meeting ID to open the settings window.
You can customize the following settings:
* **Personal meeting ID (PMI)**: Use the default listed, or create a new Personal meeting ID number.
* **Personal meeting name**: Add a custom name for your personal meeting room.
* **Use for instant meetings** : Turn this setting on to use your PMI or personal meeting name for instant meetings using the Start button on the
Video
page.
* **Mute audio for participants**: Turn this setting on so that participants can join your meeting with their audio automatically muted.
* **Turn off camera for participants**: Turn this setting on so that participants can join your meeting with their cameras off.
* **Password required**: Turn this setting on to require a password for participants to enter your meetings. Enter the password you'd like to use in the available field.
* **Participants can only join after me**: Turn this setting on if you don't want participants to join your meeting before the host. If you select this option, you can also:
* **Enable waiting room** : Tap to open this setting. To allow participants to wait in a room until the host joins, use the toggle to turn this setting on.
* In the next section, tap to select who to create a waiting room for: *Anyone outside my company* , *Anyone not signed in* , or *Everyone*.
* **Only signed in users can join**: Tap the toggle on to only allow signed in users to join your meetings.
* **Only signed in co-workers can join**: Tap the toggle on to only allow signed in users on your company's account to join your meetings. Allow only hosts to share screen: Tap the toggle on to only allow hosts and moderators to share their screens.
Under **Meeting details**, you will find your meeting URL, dial-in number, and the participant and host access codes. Tap the copy icon next to your personal meeting URL to copy the link.
When you're done customizing your settings, tap **Close**.
### Starting a meeting with your Personal meeting ID or name
If you've set up your personal meeting room for use with instant meetings, every meeting you start using the **Start** button on the
Video
page will use your personal meeting room.
If you haven't customized your settings, you can still use your personal meeting room for an instant meeting by following the steps below:
* Tap **
Video
** in the bottom menu bar.
* Tap **Personal meeting** in the top row of icons.
* Tap **Start meeting** .
### Scheduling a personal meeting
You can schedule a personal meeting in the
RingCentral
mobile app. Your PMI will be included in the meeting link with the invite sent to the meeting participants.
* Tap **
Video
** in the bottom menu bar.
* In the top row of icons, click **Schedule**.
* Tap the toggle for **Use personal meeting** to turn the setting on.
* Adjust the other settings as needed, then tap **Next**.
* You'll have one of the following options:
* If you've connected a calendar to the
RingCentral
app, you can invite participants. Tap **Next** to schedule the meeting.
* If you haven't connected your calendar to
RingCentral
, the meeting will start instantly. Tap **Invite** to add participants.
