Cisco SPA phones and ATAs reaching end of life

Some Cisco SPA phones and analog telephone adaptors (ATAs) will reach their end of life on April 7, 2024, and will no longer work with the RingCentral system.

You can either:

  • Use RingCentral app to make and receive calls, which is a free solution. 
  • Explore our range of alternative phone solutions that are fully supported and will continue to receive updates and security patches.

Rebates and special offers

Mitel

Mitel offers a $30 rebate on the 6920W model. Customers should claim rebates directly from Mitel. 

  • The offer expires June 30th, 2024.
  • The offer is valid for RingCentral US customers only.
  • Customers may submit claim and proof of purchase documents for their rebate beginning April 5, 2024 at www.mitelrebate.com.
  • The rebate submission is valid April 5 through September 30, 2024.
  • Customers must submit a photo of at least one Cisco SPA phone label showing the serial number. 

Polycom

Polycom offers rebates on selected models:

  • Edge E220: $15 one-time rebate
  • Edge E350: $20 one-time rebate

Customers should claim rebates directly from Polycom. For information on how to claim your rebate, go to PolyPhoneCashback.

Note:

  • The offer expires April 30th and requires a minimum purchase of 5 devices.
  • The maximum quantity is 200 devices.

Yealink

Frequently asked questions

Why will Cisco phones stop working on April 7th, 2024?

This is due to a combination of expiring security certificates and the end-of-support/life announcement from Cisco. ​

Cisco has announced end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for Cisco SPA 303 and other series model phones. The announcements state that support services for select devices will become unavailable in the first quarter of 2024.

Important: These Cisco phone models will stop working on April 7th, 2024, when their security certificates expire. The devices will no longer be able to authenticate with the provisioning server, which will prevent device registration. If the device unregisters, calls cannot be answered or received.

Customers should make plans to migrate from impacted Cisco phones to prevent business disruption.​

Can I use a phone that isn’t on the replacement recommendation list?

The device can be registered as a BYOD phone by following the instructions for SIP manual provisioning.  ​

What happens to my device after the security certificate expires?​

Phones registered prior to the security certificate expiration will keep their connection, but if the phone is reset or unplugged it will not reconnect. If the connection is lost, you’ll need to re-configure the phone as a BYOD device by following the instructions for SIP manual provisioning.
