A CCRN, also known as Contact Center Routing Number, is a phone number in <var class="keyword">

</div></var> that routes calls to a contact center. After purchasing your phone numbers or porting them to <var class="keyword">
<div style="display: inline;">
RingEX
</div></var>, you may set the phone numbers up as CCRNs to route calls to your <var class="keyword">
<div style="display: inline;">
RingCX
</div></var> account.

Assigning a CCRN in <var class="keyword">
<div style="display: inline;">
RingEX
</div></var>

You can only assign a CCRN for Direct or Company numbers. You cannot use numbers that are attached to a specific device. If the number is attached to a device, contact your project or account manager to discuss configuration options.

If you already have an existing <var class="keyword">
<div style="display: inline;">
RingCentral
</div></var> number you want to use as a CCRN for <var class="keyword">
<div style="display: inline;">
RingCX
</div></var>, complete the following to assign a CCRN in <var class="keyword">
<div style="display: inline;">
RingEX
</div></var>:

* Sign in to <var class="keyword">
  <div style="display: inline;">
  RingEX
  </div></var> [<var class="keyword">
  <div style="display: inline;">
  Admin Portal
  </div></var>](https://service.ringcentral.com ""). You will need Phone System Admin privileges to make the necessary changes.
* At the top, click **Phone System**.
* In the left navigation bar, click **Phone Numbers** , then click **All numbers**.
* Click the number that you would like to go to <var class="keyword">
  <div style="display: inline;">
  RingCX
  </div></var>. For numbers that have not been assigned for other purposes (for example, a conferencing number), complete the following:
  * Click the **Add Number** button at the top right.
  * In the **Select Numbers** tab, select the country from the **Location** dropdown.
  * Select the **State/Province** and **Area Code** for the numbers.
  * Select the numbers you want to add to <var class="keyword">
    <div style="display: inline;">
    RingCX
    </div></var>.
  * Click **Add Numbers**.

* Under **Connect Calls To** , click the radio button next to **Contact Center**.
* Under **Contact Center Number Settings** , select *<var class="keyword">
  <div style="display: inline;">
  RingCentral
  </div></var> <var class="keyword">
  <div style="display: inline;">
  RingCX
  </div></var>* from the **Type** dropdown.
* Select the <var class="keyword">
  <div style="display: inline;">
  RingCX
  </div></var> **Account** where you want the numbers to be added.

* A new voice channel will automatically be added for each number in <var class="keyword">

  RingCX
  </div></var>. If you have permission to create or edit channels in <var class="keyword">
  <div style="display: inline;">
  RingCX
  </div></var>, select a **Destination** for the number.
* Click **Save**.

Switching a CCRN in <var class="keyword">

</div></var> to route calls externally

In case <var class="keyword">

RingCX
</div></var> is experiencing difficulties, you can set the CCRN to route calls externally.

* Sign in to <var class="keyword">
  <div style="display: inline;">
  RingEX
  </div></var> [<var class="keyword">
  <div style="display: inline;">
  Admin Portal
  </div></var>](https://service.ringcentral.com ""). You will need Phone System Admin privileges to make the necessary changes.
* At the top, click **Phone System**.
* In the left navigation bar, click **Phone Numbers** , then click **All numbers**.
* Click on the number you would like to reroute.
* Click on the radio button next to **Extension** (A), then click **Select Extension** (B).

* Select the extension with your forwarding rule and click **Select**.
* Click **Save** at the bottom of the page.
