RingCentral text messaging requirements ========================================================================================================= The RingCentral app on your mobile, desktop, or web browser allows you to send and receive SMS, MMS, Group SMS, and SMS Broadcast messages within RingCentral and other carriers. * **Short Messaging Service (SMS)** , commonly known as text messaging, is when a text message is sent to one or more recipients (not as a group). Messages are billed per segment, with a maximum of ten segments for each SMS. "") for more details. * **Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS)** supports text messages with attachments, such as videos, images, and audio files. These messages become a group chat or group conversation and are typically sent as MMS. A maximum of ten recipients is allowed for each Group SMS. * **SMS Broadcast** is a one-to-many SMS messaging service where individual (non-group) text messages are sent to multiple recipients simultaneously. Each recipient receives the message separately, without forming a group conversation. The RingCentral app supports SMS Broadcast to a maximum of 100 recipients. Business SMS and MMS requirements --------------------------------- You can use a single business phone number for voice calls, text messaging, faxing, and exchanging multimedia files. Text messaging limitations -------------------------- * SMS and MMS services are only available to RingCentral US and Canada accounts and phone numbers. * RingCentral phone numbers can receive inbound texts from a short code but can't send outbound texts to a short code. * You can only send text messages to phone numbers that are SMS-enabled.
