Making a note in the RingCentral app desktop
and web | RingCentral app

Notes in the RingCentral app are a way to document and keep track of information you’d like to refer back to later. You can add notes directly into direct messages, groups, and teams. Notes created in a conversation are accessible and editable by anyone added to that conversation. 
 
While creating a note, you can use the note’s formatting options to format your text however you like and even insert files, images, tables, and code snippets.

Creating a note for desktop or web

  1. Navigate to Message via the left-hand navigation bar.
  2. Select a conversation from the conversation list.
  3. Select the New note paper icon located above the message thread at the bottom of the app.
Create note
  1. Give your note a title.
  2. Begin drafting your notes.
  3. Post the note to the conversation via the Post note to [conversation] paper airplane icon
    OR
    Save it as a draft via the Save as draft floppy disk icon. You can find your drafts under the Notes tab in the conversation details panel at the far right.

Viewing notes for desktop or web

Once you’ve created a note, that note will appear in the message thread and the conversation details panel at the far right under the Notes tab. In this section, you will see all notes created for that conversation, with the most recent at the top. 
 
Each note will have the title of the note and the name of the person who created it. To view the contents of the note, click on the note to open it.
