Engage Digital | Instagram Messaging channel connection settings

Engage Digital’s Instagram Messaging is a private messaging channel for Instagram users. To allow Engage Digital to connect to the Instagram API, the Instagram account you connect to must be an Instagram Business account and must be linked to your Facebook account. If you need to switch your account to a business account, refer to Set up a Business Account on Instagram.

Channel connection settings

  • Instagram business account: The username on the Instagram account.
  • User token: The user token for the Instagram account. To get your user token, click the Continue with Facebook button, then sign in with the Instagram account’s admin credentials on the next page.
  • Get your credentials: The permission required to grant Engage Digital access to the Instagram account’s data.
  • Ice Breakers: The language used for the first ice breaker will be set as the default language. You can specify up to four conversation starters or ice breakers. Each question should start with a new line and has an 80-character limit. Note: Ice breakers only appear in new conversations. If a user has contacted you previously, they won't see any ice breakers.
