Viewing user profiles in RingCentral mobile app

A user’s profile displays personal information associated with a specific RingCentral app user. It may contain information such as the user’s job title, company name, phone number, email address, and more. Every RingCentral app user has a profile which can be edited by the user and viewed by other users at any time. 
 
Please note that for security reasons, some personal information, like your mobile and extension number, might not be visible to other guest contacts or external users.
 
The RingCentral mobile app makes it easy to access someone’s profile, no matter where you are in the app. You can access another user’s profile anytime you see their profile picture or name anywhere within the app.

Viewing a user’s profile using an iOS device

To view a user’s profile, follow these steps:
1. Tap on your profile photo at top left.
2. Tap Contacts.
3. Tap either Company, Guests, Personal, Teams, or Other at the top.
4. Tap the search icon on top right and type in contact name in the search bar to populate the list of names underneath.
5. Tap the contact’s name to open their profile.

Viewing a user’s profile using an Android device

To view a user’s profile, follow these steps:
1. Tap Contacts via the bottom menu bar.
2. Select and tap either Company, Guests, Personal, Teams, or Other at the top. 
3. Begin typing the contact name in the search bar at the top to populate a list of names underneath.
4. Tap the contact’s name to open their profile.

Understanding a user’s profile

Once you’ve accessed a user’s profile, you will see some or all of the following information about that user:
  • First and last name
  • Profile picture 
  • Presence
  • Status
  • Company name
  • Direct number 
  • Extension number (if applicable)
  • Email address

Performing actions via the user profile for iOS and Android devices

While viewing a user’s profile, you will have the option to perform the following actions listed below:
  • Direct messaging: Tap the chat icon under the contact name to send a direct message 
  • Instant meeting: Tap the video camera icon under the contact name to start an instant meeting with the user
  • Phone number: Tap the phone icon under the contact name to call the user’s phone number 
  • Create group: Tap the circle and plus icon to create a group message with the user 
  • Extension number: Tap the phone icon on the right of extension number to call the user using their extension number (if applicable)
  • Direct number: Tap the phone icon on the right of direct number to call the user using their direct number (if applicable)
  • Email address: Tap the user’s email address to send an email 
  • Add to quick contacts: This option is for iOS devices only. Toggle on Add to quick contacts to save the user’s profile to the quick contacts on your phone
  • Save to contacts: This option is for iOS devices only. Tap the person and plus icon to save the user’s profile to your phone
