Contacting federate accounts in the RingCentral

Large-scale companies often have multiple branches and need different setups for each branch or RingCentral account. These are called federated accounts. The Account Federation feature allows users from different branches to do the following:
  • View other accounts’ contacts,
  • Check which office the federated account belongs to,
  • Call duplicate extensions, and
  • Add or transfer calls to the contacts of other federation accounts.

Enabling Account Federation

You can enable Account Federation by getting in touch with your RingCentral account manager. However, enabling this feature would also require you to request your RingCentral account manager to disable your RingCentral app messaging.
 
Note: It might take up to 24 hours for activation. You will need to re-login to your account.

Contacting federated accounts

1. Navigate to Contacts via the bottom navigation bar.
2. Tap Company.
3. Search for the name of the contact and then tap on the contact.
4. Contact the person via video call or phone.
Note: RingCentral teams and RingCentral app messaging are disabled when the Account Federation feature is enabled.
