=======================================================================================================================

Priority queue events override standard routing when specific conditions are met, such as high call volume, repeated callers, or when a queue is unavailable. To learn about regular queue events, visit [Configuring inbound voice queue events](https://support.ringcentral.com/article-v2/Configuring-inbound-queue-events-in-RingCX.html?brand=RingCentral&product=RingCX&language=en_US "") and [Configuring inbound digital queue events](https://support.ringcentral.com/article-v2/Creating-and-managing-digital-queue-events.html?brand=RingCentral&product=RingCX&language=en_US "").

Priority queue events are often used with [business hours](https://support.ringcentral.com/article-v2/Setting-up-digital-queue-business-hours.html?brand=RingCentral&product=RingCX&language=en_US "") to control how interactions are handled outside working hours. For example, when a queue is closed on evenings, weekends, or holidays, you can use the *Queue Closed* event to notify customers that agents are unavailable and route interactions to another queue for follow-up when agents are available again.
