Using the Rooms \& Devices Overview dashboard
=============================================

In the Rooms \& Devices report, the first tab you see is the **Overview** dashboard. This page gives IT admins visibility into the current state of RingCentral Rooms and deskphones globally. It's also the entry point for IT admins to spot disruptions and perform further investigations.

Data refreshes every fifteen minutes. According to their RingCentral settings, the reported time zone is the current user's time zone.

Overview dashboard components
-----------------------------

The **Rooms \& Devices** page is identified in the top left corner. In the top navigation bar are the tabs available under Rooms \& Devices. Choose any other tabs when you want to exit the **Overview** and review the data offered on these other pages.

### Current Snapshot

The current snapshot shows the status of rooms and deskphones broken down online and offline.

Below is the definition of status

* Rooms
  * **Online**: A meeting can be held, and the controller and/or host are online.
  * **Offline**: A meeting can't be held because the controller and/or host are offline.

* Devices
  * **Online**: The device is connected.
  * **Offline**: The device is disconnected.

Online and offline rooms and devices are represented in absolute numbers and as percentages of the total number of rooms or provisioned devices.

The IT admin will be redirected to the offline room or device details by clicking on the absolute numbers in the red boxes under the donuts. This action takes the IT admin to the list of all offline rooms or devices across all locations.

### GeoLocation map

The GeoLocation map provides a bird's eye view of all locations with at least one offline RC Room or device over the last 15 minutes. The public IP addresses of the devices define the GeoIP locations. One can zoom in/out of the map to see a worldwide view or identify individual locations with offline RC Rooms or devices. When several locations are situated close, they become aggregated into one bubble when zooming out.

* Clicking an aggregated bubble automatically zooms in to show locations with offline rooms or devices. Users can zoom in on the city level.
* When clicking a number in a city-level bubble, for example, the offline rooms or offline devices under a city, the user will be redirected to the list of offline rooms or offline devices in the location.

The map gives IT admins a visual way to discover locations with a high volume of disruptions, thus an entry point to investigate these locations further.

### Locations with Problematic Rooms and Devices

The Locations with Problematic Rooms and Devices table is in the lower part of the Overview page. This table lists all locations with at least a single instance of a room or device that went offline over the past 72 hours, meaning the room or device can be online now but was offline at least once over the last 72 hours.

The "Offline rooms" column in the table shows the number of currently offline rooms per location.

The "Offline devices" column in the table shows the number of currently offline devices per location.

By default, the table is sorted in descending order by the number of currently offline devices. Users can sort the table using columns other than the IP address.

Upon clicking a number in the **Offline Rooms** column, users will be redirected to the list of rooms that are currently offline in the location.

Upon clicking a number in the **Offline Devices** column, users will be redirected to the list of devices that are currently offline in the location.

With the disruption breakdown by location, users can quickly identify locations with offline rooms or devices.

### Sites with Problematic Rooms and Devices

For Advanced and Ultra accounts with the multi-site feature, users can see another table where sites break down rooms and devices.
