Using Presentation Mode in a RingCentral Video

Make your training sessions and sales presentations in RingCentral Video more delightful, impactful, and immersive with Presentation Modes.

Presenter Overlay mode

The Presenter Overlay mode allows you to show your camera while using your presentation as the background. You can use this feature via your web browser (Chrome and Edge) or the RingCentral desktop app.

Using the Presenter Overlay mode

1. Click the More button at bottom right.
2. Select Presentation mode. This will open the Settings modal window.
3. Toggle on the button for Presenter overlay mode.

b. Green

c. Blue

5. Configure the position and size of your video by dragging the blue rectangle on the preview screen.
6. Close the Settings window.
7. Click the Share button at the bottom and select a screen to share.
8. Click Share

Conference room mode

The Conference room mode allows you to show your camera while using your presentation as the background and gives your presentation a more immersive conference-room layout.

Using Conference room mode

1. Click the More button at bottom right.
2. Select Presentation mode. This will open the Settings window.
3. Click Conference room.

c. Blue

5. Close the Settings window.
6. Click the Share button at the bottom and select a screen to share.
7. Click Share.

Glassboard mode

The Glassboard mode makes it look like you are behind your presentation. It allows you to show your camera while using your presentation as the background and gives you the ability to make your video transparent to make sure you’re not blocking your presentation.
 
The Glassboard mode also works well with online white-boarding tools such as Miro, especially if you are teaching or brainstorming with your team.

1. Click the More button at bottom right.
2. Select Presentation mode. This will open the Settings window.
3. Click Glassboard room.

5. Close the Settings window.
6. Click the Share button at the bottom and select a screen to share.
7. Click Share.

Newsroom mode

The Newsroom mode allows you to show your camera while using your presentation as the background and not cover up any of your content.

Using Newsroom mode

1. Click the More button at bottom right.
2. Select Presentation mode. This will open the Settings window.
3. Click Newsroom room.

5. You can also select where you want to position your video during the presentation

a. Left

b. Right

6. Close the Settings window.
7. Click the Share button at the bottom and select a screen to share.
8. Click Share.

Best practices when using Presenter Overlay mode

  • Practice the position of your video before your presentation and as you transition slides. You can always change the position of your video in your video settings during the meeting.
  • Be mindful of your hands — when using your hands to explain something, make sure to keep your hands inside the video camera frame.
