Enable Waiting Room Feature for RingCentral Meetings

Waiting Room
is a feature where Participants cannot join a meeting until the Host admits them individually or admits all of them from the Waiting Room. Hosts can click
Admit
to let in the new Participant immediately or click
See waiting room
to open the
Manage Participants
window. The Host can let all the Participants in by clicking
Admit All
.

NOTE
: This feature is
disabled
by default. Account administrators can enable this feature for the entire account. Users can also enable this in their own extension settings.

Enable Waiting room for the entire account

  1. Log in to the RingCentral account . Click here for more information.
  2. Go to
    Meetings
    >
    Meetings Settings
    .
  3. Scroll down to
    In Meeting (Advanced)
    , then toggle switch to enable
    Waiting room
    . Click
    Turn On
     to confirm.

Enable Waiting room for RingCentral Meetings Rooms

  1. Select who needs to be admitted to the waiting room.

  • All participants
    : All participants joining your meeting will be admitted to the waiting room. 
  • Guest participants only
    : Only participants who are not on your RingCentral account or are not logged in will be admitted to the waiting room. If not logged in, they will have an option to log in. 

NOTE:
If Guest participants only is enabled, you can also enable the option to allow internal participants (users on the account), to admit guests from the waiting room if the host is not in the meeting. 

  1. (Optional) Click the
    Lock
    icon to make this setting mandatory for all users in the account. Click
    Lock
    to confirm the setting.

  2. (Optional) Click the
    Pencil
    icon to customize the Waiting room's title, logo, and description.

Enable Waiting room for your own extension

  1. Log in to your RingCentral account . Click here for more information.
  2. Go to 
    Settings
    >
    Meetings
    .
  3. Scroll down to
    In Meeting (Advanced)
    , then toggle switch to enable 
    Waiting room
    .

  1. Select who you want to admit to the waiting room.

  • All participants
    : All participants joining your meeting will be admitted to the waiting room.

Enable Waiting room for an individual meeting

Before you can enable
Waiting Room
for an individual meeting, you must enable it in your meeting settings.

  1. Log in to your RingCentral Online account and go to
    More > Meetings > My Meetings
    .
  2. Click a meeting topic to edit it or schedule a new meeting.
  3. Under
    Meeting Options
    , check
    Enable Waiting Room
    .
  4. Click
    Save
    .
