Changing a <var class="keyword">

The security question is used to verify your identity when resetting your password or when contacting customer support. You can update it yourself in the Admin Portal, while admins can update it for other users.

Changing your security question
-------------------------------

* Sign in to the [<var class="keyword">
  <div style="display: inline;">
  Admin Portal
  </div></var>](https://service.ringcentral.com "") .
* At the top right, click the dropdown next to your profile and select **My Extension**.
* Click the **Settings** tab.
* Click **User Details** to open the section.
* Click the **Security** tab.
* Under **Security Question** , click **Change** .

* Use the dropdown to select a different security question, then fill in the **Answer** field. The security answer should be five or more characters. It's not case-sensitive.
* Click **Save**.

Changing another user's security question
-----------------------------------------

As an admin with the proper permissions, you can update other user's security question.

* Sign in to the [<var class="keyword">

  </div></var>](https://service.ringcentral.com "").
* At the top right, click the dropdown next to your profile and select **Admin Portal**.
* Click the **Users** tab.
* In the Users with Extensions list, click the name of the user whose security question you want to update.
* Click **User Details** to open the section.
* Click the **Security** tab.
* Under **Security Question** , click **Change**.
* Enter your own current password.
* Use the dropdown to select a different security question, then fill in the **Answer** field. The security answer should be five or more characters. It's not case-sensitive.
* Click **Save** .
