for Slack integration

RingCentral
for Slack lets you make calls, start video meetings, and initiate audio conferencing using the Huddle menu or by typing slash commands directly from the Slack message box.

## Install
Installing
RingCentral
for Slack
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You can install
RingCentral
for Slack from the [
RingCentral
App Gallery](https://www.ringcentral.com/apps/slack "").
* Sign in to your
RingCentral
account and go to [
RingCentral
for Slack in the App Gallery](https://www.ringcentral.com/apps/slack "").
* Click **Visit page to download**. You will be redirected to the Slack authorization page.
* Sign in to your Slack workspace as an admin.
* Click **Allow** to give
RingCentral
permission to access your workspace.
* Once the installation is complete, a confirmation page will appear.

RingCentral
will then show under **Apps** in the left panel.
To manage or uninstall the
RingCentral
for Slack app from your organization:
* Click the dropdown next to your workspace name.
* Click **Tools \& Settings** (a), then go to **Manage apps** (b).
* Your list of installed apps will open in a browser window.
* Click the three-dot **More** icon to **Uninstall** .
## Set up
Setting up
RingCentral
as a calling provider
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To use
RingCentral
for calls, you need to set it up as your third-party call provider.
* Click the dropdown next to your workspace name.
* Click **Tools \& Settings** (a), then go to **Workspace settings** (b).
* The Settings \& Permissions page will open in a browser window.
* Under the **Settings** tab, scroll down to **Third-party call providers** and click **Expand**.
* Click the checkbox next to **Allow third-party calls in Slack**.
* Click the checkbox next to **Allow phone number calls in Slack (only in direct messages)** . If you have more than one third-party call provider, click the **
RingCentral
** checkbox.
* Click **Save** .
Users will then see
RingCentral
as an option in direct messages and channels under video meetings and phone.

Using
RingCentral
for Slack
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once
RingCentral
for Slack has been installed, you'll see
RingCentral
options in the Huddle action menu of each direct message or channel. The **
Video
meetings** option will show for all users. The **Phone** option only appears for users who have a phone number connected to their account.
### Making a phone call
To make a phone call from a direct message or channel:
* Click the **Huddle** dropdown in the top right of the conversation.
* Under **Phone** , click **
RingCentral
** to make a call with the RingCentral app.
### Starting a video meeting
To start a video meeting from a direct message or channel:
* Click the **Huddle** icon in the top right of the conversation.
* Under **
Video
meetings** , click **
RingCentral
** to start a meeting in the
RingCentral
app.
* Participants can click **Join** in the conversation to connect to the meeting.
### Using slash commands
RingCentral
for Slack also supports slash commands:
* */ringcentral meet* - Starts a new
RingCentral
Video
meeting and posts the join link for participants.
* */ringcentral call* - Starts a
RingCentral
audio conference call and posts the dial-in details.
* */ringcentral help* or */ringcentral* - Shows the slash command list.
