Assigning a RingCentral Phone account to a different computer

Warning
The RingCentral Phone app is being retired

As the app is phased out, reminder notifications will appear, and eventually you won't be able to log in. To continue calling and faxing, download the RingCentral desktop app or use the web app. Your admins will receive further instructions before the final cutoff date. For more details, visit RingCentral Phone app End-of-Life.

All Users with a DigitalLine or IP Phone can use the
RingCentral
Phone for placing and receiving phone calls. The
RingCentral
Phone's DigitalLine should be associated with a computer to have the ability to place a direct outgoing call.

  • The computer with a
    RingCentral
Phone installed can only make outgoing calls using the RingOut feature  if it is not authorized.
  • Suppose your extension has a DigitalLine associated, and you are setting up your
    RingCentral
Phone for the first time. In that case,
    RingCentral
will automatically authorize and assign the
    RingCentral
Phone to your computer. Just make sure that you are using your direct
    RingCentral
number or main company number w/ your extension number and password when you sign in to the
    RingCentral
    Phone.
  • If you are using two or more computers, it is necessary to ensure that the
    RingCentral
Phone is assigned to the correct Computer Name.

Note: You must exit all
RingCentral
Phones if you are signed in to it on multiple computers.
