Setting up the dial-by-name directory in the Admin Portal

The dial-by-name directory feature lets callers find extensions using their keypad to enter an employee's first or last name. By default, callers can access all extensions, but you can set up your directory to exclude specific extensions from searches.

The Admin Portal has a [new company settings layout](https://support.ringcentral.com/article-v2/using-the-new-company-settings-layout-in-the-admin-portal.html?brand=RingCentral&product=RingEX&language=en_US ""). When you select **Admin Portal** , you'll access the instructions for the new layout. If you're not using the new layout, select **Admin Portal classic view**.

Callers will be able to access the directory only from the [company greeting](https://support.ringcentral.com/article-v2/RingCentral-Greeting-Types.html?brand=RingCentral&product=RingEX&language=en_US ""), or from a user or group greeting.
