Setting up Email-to-fax in the Admin Portal
===========================================

The [Email-to-fax](https://support.ringcentral.com/article-v2/Sending-a-fax.html?brand=RingCentral&product=RingEX&language=en_US&pills-nav=email "") feature allows users to send a fax message from the email address for their extension. Admins can turn on the feature for the account and for users, and allow users to add additional email addresses to their approved list.

Note  
Email-to-fax is disabled by default for new accounts. When admins turn this feature on, they should also make sure they're following the[best practices for the company's sender domains](https://support.ringcentral.com/article-v2/using-best-practices-for-email-to-fax-sender-domains.html?brand=RingCentral&product=RingEX&language=en_US "").

Turning on Email-to-fax for the account
---------------------------------------

* Sign in to the [<var class="keyword">
  <div style="display: inline;">
  Admin Portal
  </div></var>](https://service.ringcentral.com "").
* Click the **More** tab.
* In the left panel, click **Account Settings** (a), then **General Settings** (b).
* Click the **Email-to-Fax** toggle on.

* Check the box to acknowledge the email domain meets the [required security standards](https://support.ringcentral.com/article-v2/using-best-practices-for-email-to-fax-sender-domains.html?brand=RingCentral&product=RingEX&language=en_US "").
* Click **Turn on** .

Turning on Email-to-fax for other users
---------------------------------------

* Sign in to the [<var class="keyword">
  <div style="display: inline;">
  Admin Portal
  </div></var>](https://service.ringcentral.com "").
* Click the **Users** tab.
* In the **Users with Extensions** list, select the user.
* Click the **Outbound Calls/Faxes** tab.
* Click **Fax Settings**.
* Check the box next to **Allow this user to send faxes using Email-to-fax** .

* To authorize more email addresses to send faxes, scroll down to **Faxes Sent via Email**.
* Enter the email address in the text box provided and click **Add** . You can add up to 25 email addresses to a user's trusted list.

* Check the box to acknowledge the email domain meets the [required security requirements](https://support.ringcentral.com/article-v2/using-best-practices-for-email-to-fax-sender-domains.html?brand=RingCentral&product=RingEX&language=en_US "").
* Click **Add** .

* Click **Save**.

To delete an email address, click **Delete** next to the address, then click **Save**.

Adding email addresses for fax as a user
----------------------------------------

If you're a user who wants to add additional email addresses that you can fax from:

* Sign in to the [<var class="keyword">
  <div style="display: inline;">
  Admin Portal
  </div></var>](https://service.ringcentral.com "").
* Click the dropdown at the top right and select**My Extension**.
* Click the **Settings** tab.
* In the left panel, click **Outbound Calls/Faxes**.
* Click **Fax Settings** .

* Under**Faxes Sent via Email** , enter the email address in the text box provided and click **Add**. You can add up to 25 email addresses
* Check the box to acknowledge the email domain meets the [required security requirements](https://support.ringcentral.com/article-v2/using-best-practices-for-email-to-fax-sender-domains.html?brand=RingCentral&product=RingEX&language=en_US "").
* Click **Add**.
* Click **Save**.
