Manage the Chat Window on the RingCentral Meetings Desktop

You can manage the Chat window during a meeting with the RingCentral Meetings Desktop. You can do the following when you click
Chat
on the in-meeting dashboard.

Pop out or Merge the Chat window

  • When you click
    Chat
    on the in-meeting dashboard during a meeting, the Chat window will appear on the right side of your meeting window.
  • When the Chat window is merged, click the
    drop-down arrow > Pop-Out
    to unmerge the Chat window.

  • When the Chat window is popped out, it will appear in the middle of your meeting window. You will have the same controls and options when the Chat window is merged, popped out or when the main meeting window is minimized. You can click
    More > Merge to meeting window
    to merge to the main meeting window.

  • When the main meeting window is minimized, you may not see the
    Merge to Meeting Window
    option. Click
    Exit Minimized Video
    first to see the option again.

Chat Everyone or a Participant

If you are the Host of meeting, you can manage how Participants can chat during the meeting.

  • On
    To:
    , click the drop-down option to set the chat recipients to
    Everyone
    or to a
    Participant
    .

    More
    , and select under
    Allow attendees to chat with
    the
    Host only
    or with
    Everyone
    .

Save Chat

  • Click
    More > Save chat
    to save the chat for your meeting
  • If you have enabled
    Auto-saving chats
    in your online account. The text conversation in your meeting will be automatically saved after the meeting is ended. A text file is saved in your local folder where meetings recordings are stored.

NOTE
: You can type a maximum of 1025 characters in thechatbox, including spaces.
