Using RingCentral Video attendee controls on mobile

In the RingCentral mobile app, you’ll find RingCentral Video attendee controlsat the top and bottom of your screen during a meeting.
 
Note: In Safe Driving Mode, the only accessible attendee controls are muting/unmuting your microphone, and ending/leaving the meeting. Learn more about Safe Driving Mode.
Host controls

 Attendee controls in RingCentral Video

  • Back button: Tap the left-pointing arrow at the top left to minimize the meeting screen and enable multitask mode.
  • Meeting preview window: Once you tap the back button, the smaller meeting preview window will appear on top of the current screen. You can tap and drag the meeting screen at any time.
    Note: 
    • For iOS devices, you can enable this feature by navigating to Settings > General > Start PIP automatically.
    • For Android devices, when it’s your first time activating the feature (by tapping the back button), you’ll receive a notification to grant permission access to the app.
You can refer to your team in any conversations by using the @ or # sign. This will create a direct conversation link to a team or a person in that team.
  • Left-pointing arrow: Tap to go back to the meeting screen.
  • Double-tap: Double-tap on the meeting preview window to go back to the main meeting screen.
  • Microphone icon: Tap to mute/unmute.
  • Two outward-pointing arrows: Tap to enlarge the meeting preview window.
  • Two inward-pointing arrows: Tap to decrease the size of the meeting preview window.
Host controls
  • Meeting details: Tap the “circle-i” at the top of the screen to view meeting details.
  • Network connection: Tap the signal icon at the top of the screen to view network connection details.
  • Speaker/Phone: Switch between your device’s speaker and microphone.
  • Chat: Send a private message to one participant, or a group message to everyone in the meeting. 
  • Raise Hand/Lower Hand: Tap the “raised hand” button during a meeting to get the attention of the presenter. Tap the button again to lower your hand.
  • End: Tap to leave the meeting. Tap Cancel to continue meeting.
    Note: When breakout rooms have been created, attendees have the following controls:
    • Main meeting: Leave meeting or cancel leaving meeting.
    • Breakout room: Return to the main meeting, leave meeting, or cancel leaving meeting.
Attendee controls for breakout rooms
  • Mute/Unmute: Mute or unmute your microphone, or Join audio (if audio is not connected).
  • Start/Stop video: Start or stop the video camera.
  • Share: Share your mobile screen, camera view, or present files with other meeting participants.
  • Participants: View and invite participants. You can also mute/unmute your microphone and start/stop your video camera during the meeting via the Participants window. 
  • Chat: Host and participants can send a private chat with anyone in the main meeting or any breakout room. 
  • More: Tap the three-dot icon to access the following:
    • Disconnect audio: Disconnect audio or Join audio if your audio is not connected.
    • Virtual background: Tap to enable a virtual background, from which you can display built-in background images.
    • Enable closed captions: Turn closed captions on/off. Real-time closed captions will be displayed at the bottom of the meeting screen.
    • Settings: Tap to configure in-meeting settings. Learn more about Configuring in-meeting RingCentral Video settings on mobile.
    • Send feedback: Tap to report a problem or give feedback.
    • Submit feature idea: Tap to suggest feature ideas.
