Enabling and scheduling meetings with end-to-end encryption in the RingCentral mobile app

End-to-End Encryption (E2EE) is a feature that protects your video meeting content by making it accessible only to meeting participants. With E2EE enabled, hackers will be unable to access your data, even if the RingCentral cloud is fully compromised.

With the End-to-End Encryption feature of the RingCentral mobile app, you can:
  • Ensure that only your participants can access meeting content.
  • Manage the confidentiality of the meeting’s audio, video, and chat.
  • Protect your meeting contents, even from service providers.
  • Enable and disable encryption at any time while in a meeting (Dynamic E2EE).
Anyone who has RingCentral login credentials will be able to join E2EE meetings. However, only users who belong to paid accounts can initiate E2EE meetings. The ability to schedule and start ad-hoc E2EE meetings is not available for free accounts.

Note: Users will not be able to join E2EE meetings by telephone (SIP/H.323 devices), as these devices do not support end-to-end encryption. You can also enable end-to-end encryption for your RingCentral Video meetings by signing in to your Admin Portal

  2. Tap Turn on End-to-end encryption, then tap Turn it on when the popup window appears. You’ll know that E2EE has been enabled when the green shield icon appears on the top of the meeting screen.
