Comparison between RingCentral Outlook integrations

RingCentral offers two different integrations with Microsoft Outlook that make scheduling video meetings easier.
  • The RingCentral Scheduler add-in is an Outlook Add-in: an application for desktop and web on both Windows and Mac OS.
  • The RingCentral for Microsoft plugin is a that can be installed on your computer and used from your desktop Outlook client only on Windows OS.
Note: In 2020, Microsoft announced that they would block Outlook for Mac plugins. Per a more recent update, they will block only certain plugins in newer macOS releases (12.x and higher) for reasons of security and stability.
 
RingCentral will continue to offer both the Outlook Scheduler Add-in and the Outlook plugin until Microsoft releases further news about blocked plugins.

  • Developed and actively maintained by RingCentral.
  • Supports video, voice, and SMS features.
  • Supports RingCentral Meetings and RingCentral Video.
  • Works only on Windows OS.

Add-in: RingCentral Scheduler Outlook

(Older versions are RingCentral Meetings and RingCentral Video add-ins)
RingCentral Scheduler outlook addin
  • The RingCentral Meetings and RingCentral Video add-ins have been upgraded and combined into the RingCentral Scheduler Outlook add-in. 
  • Developed and actively maintained by RingCentral.
  • Supports RingCentral Meetings and RingCentral Video.
 
Important Notes for existing RingCentral customers:
  • If you’ve installed them with Microsoft App Source, the RingCentral Meetings add-in and the RingCentral Video add-in should be automatically replaced with the RingCentral Scheduler add-in. 
  • If you’ve installed the RingCentral Meetings and RingCentral Video add-ins were installed from a source file,  you will have to manually delete them, then replace them with the RingCentral Scheduler Outlook add-in. Learn more about replacing older add-ins with the new add-in.
