How many participants can join a RingCentral Video meeting?

The maximum number of participants in a RingCentral Video meeting is determined by your service tier.
  • Standard: 100 participants
  • Premium: 200 participants
  • Ultimate: 200 participants
Note:
  • RingCentral Video is not available with the Basic/Essentials plan.
  • If you need to host video meetings with more than 200 participants, you can use RingCentral Webinar.

Does RingCentral Video have a chat or messaging feature?

Yes. An integrated chat feature lets you send messages instantly to one or more video meeting participants.

RingCentral Video is integrated into RingCentral’s MVP app, so you can also use team messaging to communicate with any meeting participants who have RingCentral accounts.

Does RingCentral Video have breakout rooms?

Does RingCentral Video have closed captioning?

Yes. RingCentral Video’s closed captions feature processes spoken words and displays them as text. The text disappears from the screen shortly after another person speaks.

Does RingCentral Video have a whiteboard feature?

What is RingCentral Video’s maximum video quality?

  • Webcam video: 1280 x 720 pixels at 24 frames per second

Is there a time limit for RingCentral Video meetings?

Yes. RingCentral Video meetings automatically end after 24 hours.

How many RingCentral Video meetings can I attend simultaneously?

With RingCentral Video for desktop and web, you can attend three simultaneous meetings.
With RingCentral Video for mobile, you can only attend one meeting at a time.

Can I switch devices in the middle of a RingCentral Video call?

Note: If you’re running RingCentral Video as a standalone app, one-click switch isn’t available, but you can manually join a meeting from a second device.

RingCentral Video is available on these operating systems: Windows 8.1 and up, Mac OS X 10.7 and up, iOS 10.0 and up, and Android 7.0 and up. For browsers, RingCentral Video currently supports Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Additional browser support is on the roadmap.

1280x720 at 24 frames per second (fps) for 1:1 and multi-participant meetings.

Up to 1920x1080 at 30 fps

Remote control of the presenter’s mouse and keyboard is planned for 2022 Q1.

Users must be authorized by the meeting Host to access the recording.

To share a recording
  • Sign in to RingCentral Video
  • Click Recordings
  • Select “My Recordings”
  • Find a recording you want to share
  • Click the Share button to choose with whom within your company to share the recording
You can also download the recording as an *.mp4 file to email or share through any other app.

RingCentral Video meetings automatically end after 24 hours.

You can simultaneously run one meeting on your desktop and one on a mobile device.
  1. 14. How do RingCentral Video Closed Captions work?
     
Spoken words are processed by RingCentral’s cognitive speech recognition platform and rendered as text. The text disappears from the screen shortly after another person speaks.
  1. 15. Can non-English speakers use Closed Captions?
     
RingCentral Video Closed Captions currently does not support non-English speakers and does not recognize when a non-English language is spoken. However, support for more languages is planned in the future.
  1. 16. Does the RingCentral Closed Caption feature support languages besides English?
     
Not yet, but more languages are coming soon!

Currently, RingCentral Video Closed Captions feature is highly optimized for American English. Support for more English accents is coming soon.

  1. 20. Does RingCentral Video support the same integrations as RingCentral Meetings?
     
RingCentral Video supports many of the same integrations as RingCentral Meetings, including Outlook Scheduler, Google Workspace, and Outlook Plugin. Additionally, while Google Hangouts is unavailable, RingCentral Video integrates with Slack and Zapier, with more app integrations coming.
  1. 21. Will RingCentral Video interoperate with Meetings?
     
While in the transition period, users with RingCentral Meetings (RCM) accounts will be upgraded to RingCentral Video (RCV). During that time, new meetings will be scheduled as RingCentral Video meetings, while meetings scheduled as RCM meetings will remain accessible. However, RCV users will no longer be able to host or schedule meetings on the RCM app platform, as the two are separate products that do not share meeting data or user ID information. When the upgrade is complete, RCM meetings will no longer be available. You are encouraged to reschedule RCM meetings in RCV before the end of the upgrade period. You have the option to reschedule meetings in bulk.

  1. 22. Are plugins required to use RingCentral Video?
     
There are no software downloads required for RingCentral Video. This enables RingCentral Video’s "One-click" meeting experience. RingCentral Video is available today using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser using WebRTC. Different browsers will be supported in the future. There are many advantages for WebRTC, including performance and security.  
  1. 23. Is RingCentral Video HIPAA compliant?
     
RingCentral has implemented HIPAA security safeguards to better serve our customers in the highly regulated healthcare industry. We annually undergo a third-party SOC 2+ audit—which includes an assessment of controls mapped to the HIPAA Security Rule requirements, demonstrating the implementation of the security safeguards and conditions outlined in the HIPAA Security Rule. RingCentral offers HIPAA Business Associate Agreements to covered entities. RingCentral Video is included under the covered services of our Business Associate Agreement (BAA). RingCentral Video can be offered to healthcare customers that are subject to HIPAA. RingCentral will act as a Business Associate for any such customers and comply with HIPAA obligations accordingly. Please note that any customers subject to HIPAA and using RingCentral Video to create, receive, transmit, or maintain PHI need to request a BAA from RingCentral. Customers’ own BAAs are not accepted.
  1. 24. Is RingCentral Video HITRUST certified?
     
RingCentral Video has earned Certified status for information security by HITRUST. HITRUST CSF Certified status indicates that RingCentral Video has met HITRUST’s defined security requirements and appropriately manages cybersecurity risk. RingCentral joins an elite group of global organizations that have earned this certification.
  1. 25. Is RingCentral Video GDPR (General Data Protection Rule) compliant?
     
RingCentral offers customers a robust Data Processing Addendum (DPA) governing the relationship between the customer and RingCentral. Our DPA contains firm privacy commitments that few software companies can match and is regularly updated to confirm our compliance with the GDPR.
  1. 26. I had participants in my recurring meetings when I migrated from RingCentral Meetings to RingCentral Video. Do they need to download and install the new app to join?
     
No. Participants are not required to get the new app to join RingCentral video meetings from a Mac or Windows PC. They can join RCV meetings via Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge web browser
  1. 27. How can I share my computer audio during screen sharing?
     
Sharing of system audio during screen sharing is only available on RingCentral Video web. You can go to v.ringcentral.com and join or start a meeting through your browser. You can share your system audio when you share your entire screen or a tab’s audio when you choose to share a Chrome tab.
