Sending a message in the RingCentral mobile app

You can use the RingCentral mobile app to send a message to another user, a group, or a team. Depending on the permissions set by your admin, you may be able to send a message to someone who doesn’t have a RingCentral account.
  1. Sign in to the RingCentral mobile app. 
  2. Go to Message in the bottom menu bar.
  3. Tap the new actions (+) button at the top right (iOS) or bottom right (Android), and select New message. Enter names or email addresses in the To field.

You can also tap the search icon at the top right and look up the name of a person, group, or team.

  1. Enter your message, then tap Send.

Access the following options while writing a message:
  • Message options: Tap the plus (+) icon to access:
    • View library: Tap to access photos and videos from your mobile device’s library.
    • Attach files: Select a file from your mobile device or connected cloud drives. 
    • Share GIF: Find a GIF you’d like to share.
    • New task: Create a new task.
    • New event: Create a new event
    • New note: Create a new note.
  • Expand button: Drag the gray bar up to expand the message field. Drag it down to minimize. 
  • Send button: Tap the paper airplane icon to send your message.
Note: If the message doesn’t send, a red looping arrow will appear at the far right of the message. Tap the arrow to resend the message.
