Message in the RingCentral app on your desktop or web browser and the RingCentral mobile app helps you:
  • Collaborate to streamline your workflow.
  • Chat with coworkers in real-time, either one-on-one or in a group conversation.
  • Create teams so users can collaborate on a specific project, discuss a topic, or share ideas.
  • Share files and create notes, tasks, and events.

Types of conversations

You can have three types of conversations in Message: direct messages, group conversations, and team conversations.
  • Direct messages: These are one-on-one conversations with another person in your company. They’re labeled with the name of the person you’re messaging.
  • Group conversations: These include three or more people, including yourself. They’re listed with your direct messages and are labeled with the first names of the other people in the group.
  • Team conversations: These are similar to group conversations but are created and managed by team admins. You can use team conversations to communicate with teammates or collaborate on a project with others in your company. These appear under Teams on your conversation list and are labeled with a name created by your team admin.
    • Members can be added and removed anytime. New members can see a full conversation history when added to the team.
