3. Bandwidth recommendations

RingCentral Meetings will optimize its bandwidth usage according to every participant’s network. RingCentral Meetings automatically adjusts for 3G, WiFi, and wired Ethernet environments. 
 
Note: The number of participants in a meeting affects your bandwidth requirements. RingCentral Office supports up to four participants for Standard plans, up to 100 participants for Premium plans, and up to 200 participants for Ultimate plans. 

The bandwidth for various call patterns is as follows:
  • 1:1 video calling:
    • HQ video: 600 kbps (up/down)
    • HD video: 2 Mbps (up/down)
  • Group video calling: 600 kbps/2 Mbps (up/down) for HQ video 
  • Group audio conferencing: up to 60 kbps 

3.1 Recommended bandwidth for webinar panelists

Webinar panelists are considered full participants in a meeting because they can view, send audio and video, share their screens, and annotate. Below are the bandwidth recommendations for webinar panelists:
  • 1:1 video calling:
    • HQ video: 600kbps (up/down)
    • HD video: 1.2 Mbps (up/down)
  • Group video calling:
    • HQ video: 600kbps/1.2Mbps (up/down)
    • Gallery view: 1.5Mbps/1.5Mbps (up/down) 
  • Screen-sharing only (no video thumbnails): 50-75kbps
  • Screen-sharing with video thumbnails: 50-150kbps
  • Audio VoIP: 60-80kbps

3.2 Recommended bandwidth for webinar attendees

  • 1:1 video calling:
    • HQ video: 600kbps
    • HD video: 1.2 Mbps (down)
  • Screen-sharing only (no video thumbnails): 50-75kbps (down)
  • Screen-sharing with video thumbnails: 50-150kbps (down)
