Participants in RingCentral Rooms can share their screens with Proximity Sharing in the RingCentral desktop app. Proximity Sharing uses Bluetooth to connect the RingCentral app with the Rooms host’s device when a participant clicks Share Screen.
Turning on Proximity Sharing for RingCentral Rooms
In the left navigation bar, go to Settings.
Click the Video tab in the left pane.
Under Rooms, click the toggle to Allow direct sharing in Rooms.
Using Proximity Sharing for RingCentral Rooms
In the left navigation bar, go to Video.
In the left pane, click the Upcoming meetings tab.
Click Share in room.
Note: If you haven’t allowed RingCentral Rooms to access your Bluetooth, you will receive a prompt asking for Bluetooth access. Click Share to grant access.
Select the Room you want to share. You can find the Rooms using one of these methods:
a. Proximity: If there are available Rooms nearby, you’ll see a list of them. Click the Room you’re using, then click Select.
Note: The Proximity tool is available only in the RingCentral desktop app.
b. Meeting ID: If you can’t find your Room using the Proximity method, you can enter the meeting ID by clicking enter meeting ID.
Note: If no Rooms are detected within 10 seconds, this option will appear automatically.
Select the screen you want to share, then click Select.
Stopping screen sharing
You can stop screen sharing from the RingCentral app by clicking the Stop sharing button in the Upcoming meetings tab.
