Best practices when using a green screen

  • Use a solid green or blue background.
  • Don’t wear the same color as your background.
  • Use multiple sources of lighting set at different angles to reduce unwanted shadows.
  • You can purchase a green screen or make your own using a solid-color sheet or curtain. Types of green screens include:
    • Collapsible backdrop: Uses cloth over a flexible frame. Easy to set up and break down when not in use.
    • Detachable office chair green screen: Can be attached to the back of your chair. No need to tape or tack anything to the wall.
    • Seamless background paper: Thick, green, non-reflective paper that provides a smooth, solid background you can tape to your wall.
    • Muslin backdrop: Fabric option that can be hung on a stand or attached directly to your wall.
    • Green paint: provides a non-reflective and consistent solid background color. Use Chroma Key paint shade for the best green screen effect.
