Using chat in RingCentral Video meetings on desktop
and web | RingCentral Video

This article provides instructions on how to send, view, and respond to chat messages during RingCentral Video meetings. The in-meeting chat allows the meeting participants to communicate with the host or other participants via chat. 
 
With the in-meeting chat, you can send a public chat to everyone in the meeting, or a private chat to individual participants.

Sending an in-meeting public chat 

To send public messages to everyone in the meeting, follow these steps:
  1. Click Chat in the bottom menu bar
  2. If you are the host or moderator of the meeting, make sure Everyone to chat is selected next to Allow
  3. Type your message in the Message to everyone field and press Enter on your keyboard

Sending an in-meeting private chat

To send private messages to a specific person in the meeting, follow these steps:
  1. Click Chat in the bottom menu bar
  2. Click the Privately tab
  3. In the Chat with field, enter the name of the person you want to chat with in the meeting
  4. Click the person’s name
  5. Type your message in the Message to (participant’s name) field and press Enter on your keyboard
