Creating and managing Breakout Rooms in RingCentral

When you start or create a RingCentral Video Breakout Room, you can:

How to create Breakout Rooms

  1. While in a meeting, click Breakout at the bottom menu bar. This will open the Breakout Rooms window.

  1. Click the Add room plus (+) icon at the top left.

  1. You will see the Breakout Room you’ve created under the BREAKOUT ROOMS column with a default room name.
Note: You can create a maximum of 50 Breakout Rooms.

How to rename Breakout Rooms

  1. Hover over the Breakout Room you want to rename.

  1. Click on the Rename button, and type in the desired name. 
  2. Press Enter (Windows) or Return (Mac) on your keyboard.

How to assign attendees to Breakout Rooms

  1. Hover over the right of the participant name you want to assign to a Breakout Room.
  2. Click Assign.

  1. Select desired Breakout Room.

How to reassign attendees to Breakout Rooms

  1. Click the Breakout Room where the participant is assigned.

  1. On the right of the participant’s name, click Move.
  2. Select the Breakout Room you want to move the participant to.

How to delete Breakout Rooms

Hover over the Breakout Room you want to delete and click on the Delete trash can icon.

How to close and open Breakout rooms

  1. Click Close all rooms at bottom right.

  2. All participants will go to the main meeting room.
You can open the breakout room any time after closing it, and the participants will go back to their assigned breakout rooms. Click Open all rooms at the bottom right.
