Intro to Q&A

Last updated on March 15, 2022
Using Q&A during the webinar is a great way to interact with all attendees. Q&A is available once the webinar goes live, and it can also be used in practice sessions for testing. Hosts can turn on or off the Q&A when scheduling or during the webinar.

Upon starting the webinar, click the Q&A button on the bottom menu to open the Q&A window.
Q&A controls
Hosts and cohosts have controls available to manage the Q&A.
  • Allow Q&A: Toggle the button to turn on or off Q&A. The Q&A is on by default and can be turned on or off during webinar setup. Hosts and cohosts can choose to turn on or off Q&A even before the webinar goes live. The Q&A option will appear disabled when it is turned off by the host or cohost, and attendees will not be able to access it.
  • Allow anonymous questions: Select the check box to allow anonymous questions. When anonymous questions are allowed, the asker will see a checkbox to select if they wish to ask a question anonymously. Any questions asked anonymously will show as asked by "Anonymous" and not reveal the name of the asker.
Some Q&A controls and tabs are available for hosts, cohosts, and panelists.
  • All: Displays all questions asked in the webinar.
  • Open: Displays only open questions.
  • Need to Follow up: Displays only waiting for follow-up questions.
  • Sort: Sort webinar questions from Oldest to Newest and to Most voted. Questions will be sorted from top to bottom.
  • Ask a question field: Enter questions here.
  • Ask anonymously checkbox: Select the box before sending the question, if you wish to ask the question anonymously. This option will be grayed out when anonymous questions are disallowed.
  • Send: Click to send questions.
Attendees can only send, see, and sort their own or all questions in the Q&A window.

The host and cohosts can also categorize the questions during the webinar. See Managing questions to learn more.
