Once you drag each measure and attribute to their respective sections, you will see a bar graph generated that displays the amount of agents per group. Depending on how your data is configured, you may have different names for measure and attribute items.
On the left-hand side is the data catalog. This is where you can find measures and attributes. On top of the data catalog is a search bar where you can search for specific measures or attributes. Below the search bar are three tabs: all data, measures, and attributes.
In Analytical Designer, all draggable items in the data catalog — both measure and attributes — are called ‘data.’ Under all data, you can find all data that are either measures or attributes combined. Under the measures tab are measures, and under the attributes tab are attributes.
On top of the canvas is the title bar. On the title bar, you will find the insight title which you can rename. Along the title bar to the right are undo, redo, and clear buttons, the Open button to load an insight you already created, the Save button, and a More menu. Pressing the More icon gives you an option to export the insight data into downloadable XLSV or CSV files.
Below the insight title is the insight type switcher. Different icons represent various ways you can visualize your insights. Below these icons are different data sections. These sections are where you drag measures or attributes from the data catalog. Depending on the insight type, you may have the following sections: Measures, Rows, Columns, View By, Stack By, Trend By, and Segment By. Each section will have a different purpose for the specific insight type you choose.
For example, a bar chart will only have Measures, View By, Stack By, and Configuration sections, as these are the only sections needed to generate a bar graph. Bar graphs don’t have rows or columns, so the Rows and Columns sections will not appear.
Below the sections is the configuration box. By default, the configuration box is minimized. When you click on it, it will expand to show you different configuration options for the insight type you’ve chosen.
Insight types and their different sections and configurations are listed and explained further in
Insight types.
To the right of the insight type switcher is the filter bar. You can drag attributes to it to act as filters for your insights, or you can drag the Date data to create filters for specific periods of time. Using date data as a filter lets you compare data to previous periods.
