Engage Voice | Configuring custom widgets

As we discussed in Intro to Real-Time reporting, you can add custom widgets to your dashboard. Here we will discuss how to configure your custom widgets. 
Keep in mind that you must first add a custom widget to your dashboard before you can configure it and actually view your data. If you have not done so already, you might want to read about adding widgets
When you configure a custom widget, you will have many choices for customization. You can determine both the information contained in each widget and the overall look and format of the widget display. 

How to configure a custom widget

Once you’ve added a custom widget to your dashboard, it will be blank and not include any columns or information. 
If you are configuring a custom widget immediately after adding it to the dashboard, be sure you have clicked the blue Save button. If not, you will be unable to access your configuration options.  
When you are ready to configure a custom widget, follow these steps:
1. Click on the Analytics app icon upon log in. You’ll be directed to Real-Time dashboards.
2. Click on the More icon in the upper right-hand corner of the custom widget you want to configure (Note that if this More icon is not visible, it is probably because you have not saved your most recent additions to the dashboard).

3. Choose Configure Widget from the list of options to reveal the Type tab in the custom configuration window.
4. Click on the type of display you want for your custom widget.
5. Click on the Product tab to reveal the product settings.
6. Click on the Select Product field to reveal a dropdown menu and select a product (Note that if you choose Inbound or Outbound, additional fields will appear).
7. Click on the Data tab to reveal the data settings.
8. Click on Add Data Field and then use the field that appears above to choose a data field (Repeat this step to add as many data fields as you want).
9. Click on the Filter tab to reveal the filter settings.
10. Click on the Accounts field and select an account (Repeat this step if you have multiple accounts and want to include data from more than one).
11. Configure the additional fields that appeared below when you selected your account(s).
12. Click on the Layout tab to reveal the layout settings.
13. Complete the fields in the Layout tab as desired.
14. Click on the blue Apply button to apply your changes and exit the configuration window.
