Engage Voice | Agent scripting elements: Table

Use the Table element to create a set of data source variables agents can draw upon from within the script. This article discusses settings and features that are specific to the Table element. Check out Editing Page elements: the basics for more information on basic element settings, and Adjusting elements on a script page for element adjustment.

You can start by choosing a data source you’ve already created, like content from the Data Builder tool, then arranging that data into columns using the Add Column setting.

Next, you can create your column headers using the Column Name setting and choosing a Data Key from the dropdown menu to designate the dataset you’d like to populate each column with. Please note that you must create, name, and link columns to your data in order for your table to display properly.

Configuration

Use the Configuration tab to configure your column and table settings:
  • Columns: Use these settings to configure the columns in your table
    • Add Column: Click this button to create a column. Repeat as needed. Use the x icon to the right of each column to delete it
    • Column Name: Choose a name for your column. This name will display as the column header
    • Data Key: This is a dropdown menu that will appear with all the options mapped to the data source tag you entered above
    • Visible to agent: Should this column be visible to the agent? If yes, check the box
    • Save Data: Would you like to save this data for future access and reporting purposes? If yes, check box
  • Table Settings: Use these settings to further configure your table
    • Search: This setting allows an agent to filter table data based on search criteria
    • Pagination: A dropdown menu that allows you to choose how many entries you wish to see on each page of the table
Set up Table element
  • Info: Shows the number of entries per page and in the entire table
Table pagination
  • Sortable: This setting allows sorting in ascending and descending order (by column)
  • Selectable: This setting allows the agent to select specific rows to save to the script as captured data
In the example below, you’ll first see a Data Builder tool that has been pre-populated with information to be displayed in the table. Then you’ll see the process of setting up a Table element. Finally, you’ll see what that table looks like in the rendered script. Please note that the Previous and Next buttons appear because the Pagination option is selected in the example’s settings.
