Porting phone numbers to RingCentral MVP

Engage Voice has the capability to host its own phone numbers to process calls, and this is how it is set up for some users. If you are currently using phone numbers hosted in Engage Voice to process your calls, but you would like RingCentral MVP to manage them instead, you may migrate your phone numbers from Engage Voice to RingCentral MVP.
 
When you submit a porting or number transfer request, the information needed to port your number will be collected, including the number you are porting and your physical address (no P.O. boxes). Porting may take 30 or more business days. 
 
Below are the requirements for porting your numbers to RingCentral MVP:
  • The number to be transferred should be active 
  • Latest bill from Engage Voice for the number you are transferring
  • RingCentral phones should have been received and set up. Exemption: If you are using existing phones or using these numbers strictly to forward calls to existing phones
  • No open orders with Engage Voice
  • Letter of Authorization (LOA) and proof of address if you are transferring international numbers

Submitting a porting request to RingCentral MVP

Before you port-in your number to RingCentral MVP, you must contact your account manager to enable the contact center feature. You must also add a temporary number to your RingCentral account as a placeholder for the number you are porting. To add a temporary number, read Purchasing phone numbers in RingCentral MVP
 
To submit a number transfer request to RingCentral MVP:
  1. Log in to the Admin Portal
  2. Click on the Phone System tab in the top menu bar.
  3. Navigate to Phone Numbers > Transferred and Vanity in the left panel.
  4. Under the Transfer Orders section, click the #* Transfer Numbers button at the far right.
  5. In the Transfer Numbers window, select the type of number you want to transfer to your RingCentral account.
The next steps may differ depending on the type of number you want to port in. You may transfer your local US, US territory, or Canadian number, toll-free number, or international number

Porting local US, US territory, or Canadian numbers to RingCentral MVP

Keep in mind that the steps below are a continuation of the steps found in Submitting a porting request to RingCentral MVP
  1. Select Local US or US Territory Number or Canadian Number, then click Next.
  2. Answer the pre-check questions by selecting Yes or No for each item. Click Next.
  3. In the Transfer Numbers: Enter Numbers page of the window, fill out the configuration settings, then click Next.
  4. You’ll see the list of numbers to be transferred to RingCentral MVP. Click Next.
  5. Click the calendar icon to choose your preferred transfer date, then click Next.
  6. Click the Select link, choose the temporary number to match with the number you are transferring, then click Done.
  7. Click Next.
  8. In the Transfer Numbers: Account Confirmation page of the window, fill out the configuration settings. Please note that all information should match what Engage Voice has on file for your account. 
  9. Click Next.
  10. Review the information you provided in the Transfer Numbers: Account Confirmation page of the window, then click Next.
  11. Click the Browse button to upload a copy of the latest bill for the number you are transferring, then click Next.
  12. If you are not transferring all of your phone numbers in the same Billing Account Number, list the remaining phone numbers in the box provided under Additional Comments and the action to be taken for each phone number (remain, disconnect, etc.).
  13. To receive all number porting notification emails, enter your email address in the box provided under Send Emails to. Click Next.
  14. An electronic Letter of Authorization (LOA) will be  generated. RingCentral will be use this document to transfer your number from Engage Voice. Check the I agree checkbox to consent to the use of electronic records and signatures, or select No thanks to print out a copy of the LOA and return it to RingCentral by mail or by fax.
  15. Click Complete.
After completing your request online, you’ll be able to see the status of your request in the Transfer Orders section of the Transferred and Vanity configuration page.

Transfer Numbers: Enter Numbers configuration settings

  • Billing Telephone Number: Enter the main number associated with your Engage Voice account.
  • I want to transfer my Billing Telephone Number: Check this box if you want to transfer your BTN (Billing Telephone Number). Do not check this box if you only want to transfer numbers associated with your BTN.
  • Enter Numbers Manually: Select this option if you want to manually enter the numbers in the box under Enter numbers you would like to transfer.
  • Upload from Template: Select this option to download the Bulk Numbers Transfer Template. Use the template to enter the numbers you wish to transfer, then click the Upload File button to upload the template.

Account Confirmation configuration settings

  • Type of Account: The type of account you have with the number you are transferring. Select Business or Residential.
  • Name of Account: Enter the name of the person authorized to make changes to the account.
  • Service Address: The physical service address of the phone number you are transferring.
  • Your Contact Phone Number: The phone number where RingCentral Support can call you if there is a problem with the port request.

Porting toll-free numbers to RingCentral MVP

  1. Select Toll Free Number, then click Next.
  2. Select Yes if you have the latest bill ready to be uploaded for the number you are transferring. Click Next.
  3. Enter the numbers you would like to transfer in the box provided, then click Next
  4. You’ll see the list of numbers to be transferred to RingCentral MVP. Click Next.
  5. Click Select, choose the temporary number to match with the number you are transferring, then click Done.
  6. Click Next.
  7. In the Transfer Numbers: Account Confirmation page of the window, fill out the configuration settings. Please note that all information should match what Engage Voice has on file for your account.
  8. Click Next.
  9. Review the information you provided in the Transfer Numbers: Account Confirmation page of the window, then click Next.
  10. If you are not transferring all of your phone numbers in the same Billing Account Number, list the remaining phone numbers in the box provided under Additional Comments and the action to be taken for each phone number (remain, disconnect, etc.).
  11. To receive all number porting notification emails, enter your email address in the box provided under Send Emails to. Click Next.
  12. Click the Download button to download the Letter of Authorization (LOA).
  13. Sign the LOA.
  14. Click the Browse button under Signed LOA to upload a copy of your signed LOA.
  15. Click the Browse button under Latest Bill to upload a copy of the latest bill for the number you are transferring.
  16. Click Complete.
After completing your request online, you’ll be able to see the status of your request in the Transfer Orders section of the Transferred and Vanity configuration page.

Account Confirmation configuration settings

In this section, you’ll find the different settings you need to fill out to proceed with account confirmation for porting your numbers to your RingCentral MVP account. Enter all information exactly as your current phone company (the current phone company that owns the number you are transferring) has it on file.
  • Type of Account: The type of account you have with the number you are transferring. Select Business or Residential.
  • Name of Account: Enter the name of the person authorized to make changes to the account.
  • Service Address: The physical service address of the phone number you are transferring.
  • Your Contact Phone Number: The phone number where RingCentral Support can call you if there is a problem with the port request.

Porting international numbers to RingCentral MVP

  1. Select International Number, then click Next.
  2. Click the Select Country dropdown to choose the location of the number you want to transfer.
  3. Click the Select Number Type dropdown to choose the type of number you are transferring.
  4. Type ‘RingCentral Engage Voice’ in the box provided under Current Service Provider Name, then click Next.
  5. Answer the pre-check questions by selecting Yes or No for each item, then click Next.
  6. In the Transfer Numbers: Enter Numbers page of the window, fill out the configuration settings, then click Next.
  7. You’ll see the list of numbers to be transferred to RingCentral MVP. Click Next.
  8. Read the note on the Transfer Numbers: Transfer Date page of the window, then click Next.
  9. Click the Select link, choose the temporary number to match with the number you are transferring, then click Done.
  10. Click Next.
  11. In the Transfer Numbers: Account Confirmation page of the window, fill out the configuration settings. Please note that all information should match what Engage Voice has on file for your account.
  12. Click Next.
  13. Review the information you provided in the Transfer Numbers: Account Confirmation page of the window, then click Next.
  14. If you are not transferring all of your phone numbers in the same Billing Account Number, list the remaining phone numbers in the box provided under Additional Comments and the action to be taken for each phone number (remain, disconnect, etc.).
  15. To receive all number porting notification emails, enter your email address in the box provided under Send Emails to. Click Next.
  16. Click the Download button to download the Letter of Authorization (LOA).
  17. Sign the LOA.
  18. Click the Browse button under Signed LOA to upload a copy of your signed LOA.
  19. Click the Browse button under Latest Bill to upload a copy of the latest bill for the number you are transferring.
  20. Click Submit.
After completing your request online, you’ll be able to see the status of your request in the Transfer Orders section of the Transferred and Vanity configuration page.
