WhatsApp
  • WhatsApp interactive messages
Customers on the WhatsApp channel can now use interactive messages (aka structured messages). The types of interactive messages supported are:
  • quick replies (list messages)
  • templates (reply buttons)
These new messaging features will provide end customers a streamlined conversation flow leading to a faster response rate and better business outcomes. Interactive messages do not need any pre-approval and are free to use.
Interactive messages have the following limitations:
  1. These messages cannot be used for notifications.
  2. Have to be sent within a 24-hour time frame since the last (end) customer message.
  3. For list messages only up to 10 options will be supported. For reply buttons, only up to 3 buttons will be supported.
  4. Interactive messages will be supported on iOS, Android and web but will only render on supported versions of iOS and Android.

Instagram
  • Instagram Messaging: Anonymization of user deleted messages
In the event a message in a conversation is deleted by the Instagram user, Engage Digital will continue to display the message but disassociate it with the Instagram user and tag it as anonymous.
By anonymizing the message, Engage Digital remains compliant with Instagram’s requirements to not associate deleted messages with an Instagram user, and at the same time still preserve context for the conversation flow.

SMS
  • Support polling for RC SMS source in  P2P mode
For Engage Digital customers using the RingCentral SMS channel, there will no longer be any lost or delayed messages due to webhook failures. In an event of a webhook failure, Engage Digital will use polling methods to continue retrieving messages to ensure that no conversations are missed. Please note that the polling mechanism can introduce a slight delay (of up to 30 mins) in the retrieval of messages.
Agent User Interface (UI)
  • Hide Message Actions labels on smaller screens
  • This enhancement hides the labels from the message actions in the folder mode message view (Fig 1) to optimize the space on smaller screens (Fig2).

Agent User Interface
  • Compose Email window changes
  • Coming in 21.4.4 targeted for November 2021. We will be making changes to the User Interface (UI) ‘Write an email’ window. These enhancements are made to optimize the overall experience for agents. The changes include:
1. Positioning of the compose email window
2. Email address fields display changes. We will not display the ‘From’ field, the ‘To’, ‘CC’ and ‘BCC’ fields in separate lines (See Fig 1) but these will now be on the same line. When the field is clicked, you will have all the rows show up one below the other, but the default view is with all of them in the same line see Fig 2.
3. The compose part of the window will be larger
4. Display of attachments will also change in the new email compose window.
